The Wrong Advices

First and foremost it is a way for me to communicate with others. To share my thoughts and ideas, and most important of all, to be heard. Don't all bloggers want to be heard? What I find profound about blogs, and what I think also demonstrates their social power, is the ability to make connections with complete strangers from all across the globe who under any other circumstances you would never meet or interact with. No other medium allows you to communicate with such reach, and at the same time with such intimacy. Blogs are truly unique in that aspect.

I've met alot of great people who I'll probably never meet in person yet I already feel I know them quite well, and I'm starting to think if we had met outside of the net then that probably wouldn't be the case. Blogs are very raw and personal. They strip away the superficial - your job, where you live, what you look like. None of it matters. Yet in the real world you can't escape those realities and people are naturally more guarded, the result being you don't get to see who they really are.

A blog is also a way for me to learn. Having a blog isn't just about writing your own words, but also reading others. I can honestly say I learn something new every day from other bloggers. Whether it's a new piece of knowledge or a different perspective on an issue, blogs make me think in new ways and about things outside my usual sphere of contemplation.

A blog means different things to different people. Some blog for money, some to influence people, others do it just to get their thoughts out there. It doesn't really matter why. We are all part of a larger community, sharing ideas, discussing, learning, and I think we are all richer for it.

Internet is a lonely place without Blogging; a fine art, also s science. Blogs are different to different people. In the first project, Quasi Fictional that still focuses on blogging basics, I asks prominent blog artists (through emails and this post) to share their views on what is blog to you? Here are the previous posts: Liz Strauss, Aliza Sherman Risdahl, Mihaela Lica, Sterling W. Camden, Peg Haustetter, Steli Efti, Vicky Stringer, EXSENO, Axinia

This is a nice series of post; different bloggers giving their opinion on what blogging means to them. There is a lot of diversity and learning here. I agree with Daniel S.

My blogs are a resource for my writings. More often, I blog informally, sharing impressions, generating ideas to see how they invoke reactions, keeping track of others’ work in the fields of my interest, or simply ranting or pointing out things that come to my attention.

Also, I use blogging as a platform to prune ideas. This is where I meet others and share experiences. “I am neither geek, nor nerd, I am not a hacker, a phreaker, a programmer or any variety of technoid dweeb.”
