I began blogging simply to purge my mind of my thoughts and views on those things happening around me. At first I visioned my blog as a psuedo-journal.
I quickly learned that it could also be used to showcase a latent talent for writing, in particular my penchant for humor.
Anecdotal stories from my youth in rural Appalachia, college and four years in the Navy provided me with plenty of material to keep me interested in this outlet. My interaction with senior citizens while at work created more fodder to write about.
I realize now that life in general is a story just waiting to be put into words for others to read.
I couldn't have imagined it when I began, but blogging has introduced me to many new friends, although they are faceless entities behind screen names.
In almost two and a half years and after more than a thousand postings, I can only wonder why I didn't start blogging sooner. -
